Kyiv Aviation Institute Workshop

A one-day workshop was held on 4th February at the Kyiv Aviation Institute to kick-off an initiative to develop a curriculum for teaching of Health Informatics at universities in Ukraine.

Professor Conceição Granja Bartnæs from Nord University in Norway and Dr John Chelsom from Seven Informatics presented an introduction to Health Informatics to professors and students from six universities: the Kyiv Aviation Institute, Mariupol State University, Dnipro University of Technology, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and the National University for Water and Environmental Engineering, Rivne.

In the afternoon the group considered two curricula for teaching Health Informatics, one a practical program for teaching Telemedicine Integration at undergraduate/college level and the other a comprehensive curriculum for a master’s level Health Informatics program.

The next step will be for the group to meet again at a one-week workshop at St Edmund Hall, Oxford in the week of 15 – 22 March.
