A telemedicine integration project for the Rivne oblast in Ukraine has received funding from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) through a donation to the NGO 100% Life, Rivne.
The project will run from January to June 2026, with an initial three month development phase, followed by deployment at the regional hospital. The integration will link telemedicine kits (originally supplied through funding from the World Bank) in nine primary care locations around Rivne, through the open source Mirth integration engine to a Data Lake (warehouse) implemented using cityEHR.
The Data Lake will push data back to the Medical Information Systems (MIS) running at the nine locations so that the patient record can include the observations made using the devices in the telemedicine kits, including the 12-lead ECG.
Both Mirth and cityEHR will be deployed on servers at the regional hospital within the existing server room, with a new rack cabinet and kit funded through the project. The project participants include the Regional Administration, the Rivne Vocational College of IT, the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE), Seven Informatics and 100% Life, Rivne,
