The XML Prague 2026 conference took place 4th – 6th June in … Prague. There was a one-day ‘unconference’ workshop followed by two days of regular conference presentations from the great and the good of the world of XML.

The workshop on “XQuery and XML Databases“, hosted by Adam Retter, included a presentation on “cityEHR in Ukraine” which explained some of the technical background to the cityEHR system and gave a summary of how it is being used for telemedicine data integration in Ukraine. The presentation by John Chelsom is available here.

In the main conference John also presented a paper entitled “XForms Implementation of a Federated Electronic Health Record, Using a Blockchain” This presentation covered the use of cityEHR in the Valkyrie project (Norway) to create a prototype of the blockchain for a federated health record for mental health practitioners. Those presentation slides are available here.
