Fordham masters student Camille Dorset completed her capstone project on the design of a kiosk system for triage of patients in an Ophthalmology clinic – Oculus Kiosk. Her work was the subject of a paper published by Springer Nature – “A Health Records Kiosk, Using An Ontology-Based Information Architecture”. Switzerland. Read the paper here.
The design has now been implemented as a user interface layer over the cityEHR health records system, using any SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) as the input for the command driven kiosk,
The next steps will be to conduct a comprehensive evaluation, including the comparison of naive (hand drawn) graphics and a more sophisticated design-driven look and feel similar to the kiosk in you favorite fast food outlet.
